Jim Landers is senior vice president of technical operations at Hawaiian Airlines, a role he has held since March 2018. He is responsible for the success of the company’s system operations control functions, flight operations, maintenance and engineering, and supply chain management.

Previously, Jim served as vice president for maintenance and engineering beginning in July 2015, where he orchestrated strategic direction, profitability, and leadership of the company’s maintenance and engineering functions, including establishing business and operating policies focused on safety, quality, and operational performance. He joined Hawaiian in October 2013 as director of strategic initiatives, managing a broad portfolio of projects targeting operational efficiency and risk mitigation.

A decorated U.S. Navy veteran, Jim served as director of operations for the U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor and as commanding officer of both the USS Makin Island and Patrol Squadron 47.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Mississippi and a master’s degree in national security strategy and international relations from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University, in Washington, D.C.
