Bankruptcy Court Approves Hawaiian-Boeing Lease Agreement

HONOLULU -- Hawaiian Airlines Trustee Joshua Gotbaum issued the following statement in response to today's decision by U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert Faris to approve the lease agreement between Hawaiian and Boeing Capital Corporation, which owns the leases to 11 Boeing 717-200 jets and three Boeing 767-300ER jets used by the carrier.

“Boeing's aircraft are critical to Hawaiian's success and reaching an agreement with Boeing is an important step toward Hawaiian's successful exit from bankruptcy. It means we have the aircraft we need at lease rates we can afford. We always knew an agreement was possible, but it's nice to have it finally done.”
