Hawaiian Airlines is Best Airline Flying to Hawaii
Fifth Best U.S. Carrier Overall
HONOLULU -- Hawaiian Airlines ranked ahead of all other airlines serving Hawaii and is now the fifth best airline in the United States, according to the Condé Nast Traveler 2004 Readers' Choice survey. More than 20,000 of the magazine's readers participated in the poll, an annual event since 1988. In the 2003 survey, Hawaiian Airlines was 10th.
“Over the past several years, everyone at Hawaiian has pulled together and created one of the best airlines in the nation,” said Joshua Gotbaum, Hawaiian Airlines Trustee. “The readers of Condé Nast Traveler are among the most sophisticated travelers in the world, so raising us from the top 10 to the top 5 is a real compliment.”
“The award is all the more meaningful because we ranked ahead of every other airline flying between the U.S. mainland and Hawaii,” said Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian's president and chief operating officer. “When it comes to serving Hawaii, we are proud that America's favorite airline is Hawaiian Airlines.”
The poll asked readers to rate the domestic airlines in four categories: ticketing/ground services; cabin comfort; cabin service; and entertainment options.
Hawaiian has, since late last year, had America's best on-time record. Several months ago, it added the top slot for baggage service and other consumer measures reported by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Hawaiian isn't resting on its laurels. The airline continues to improve its service with additional customer conveniences, including “Hele On Web Check-In” and “BaggageDirect,” a mobile skycap service that picks up and delivers your bags, so Hawaiian customers can go straight to the gate.
The company's fleet of Boeing 767s and 717s is one of the most modern in the nation.
