HONOLULU – October 02, 2012 - Hawaiian Airlines is responding to continued strong demand for its impending service to Auckland, New Zealand, with the introduction of its 294-seat Airbus A330-200 on the route, instead of its 264-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, as previously announced.
Hawaiian is launching thrice-weekly nonstop service between Honolulu and Auckland on
March 13, 2013. The larger, wide-body A330 will provide an additional 30 seats per flight, along with a
25 percent increase in cargo space. Annually, the A330 will provide Hawai‘i with nearly 46,000 new air seats from New Zealand.
“We’re thrilled with how travelers have embraced our New Zealand service and pleased to be increasing our commitment to the Honolulu-Auckland route by adding more capacity with the A330,” said Peter Ingram, Hawaiian’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer.
“The combination of Hawaiian’s nonstop flights and enjoyment of our onboard hospitality experience is resonating with our new customers in New Zealand, as well as travelers from Hawai‘i and the U.S. mainland who are eager to visit this beautiful country.”
Hawaiian will be the only U.S. carrier flying into Auckland. The company’s market research indicates that Hawai‘i is an underserved market for New Zealand, as figures show there are currently
30 percent fewer visitor arrivals from New Zealand than in 1999 when more nonstop flights were offered between the two destinations.
Honolulu to Auckland Starting at $992 Round-trip
Round-trip fares from Honolulu to Auckland, including all taxes, start at $992 for the travel periods of March 13 – April 25, 2013; May 13 – July 18, 2013; and August 6 – October 3, 2013. Prices are subject to change and based on seat availability.
Great round-trip fares are also available for flights to Auckland from the Neighbor Islands and gateway cities served by Hawaiian in North America, with convenient same-day connections in Honolulu, avoiding the need to change airlines or terminals. In addition, travelers can make stopovers on O‘ahu for no additional charge.

A330 Special Amenities
Hawaiian’s A330 offers new amenities that have been a hit with customers, highlighted by the personal on-demand entertainment system for each seat, increased legroom, and the roomy interior.
With high-resolution LCD touch-screen monitors in each seatback, the A330’s state-of-the-art entertainment system lets customers choose from a wide range of movies, TV programs, music, and video games, while also offering a USB port for the use of their own personal media players. Customers sitting in Business Class will also enjoy iPOD compatibility.
In addition to the comforts of Hawaiian’s A330 aircraft, travelers will enjoy complimentary meals in both cabins and Hawaiian’s signature inflight hospitality celebrating the culture, people and Aloha Spirit of the Hawaiian Islands.
Flight Schedule
Beginning March 13, Hawaiian’s Flight HA 445 will depart Honolulu International Airport at
1:45 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, cross the international dateline, and land at Auckland Airport at 9:55 p.m. the following day.
Beginning March 14, the return flight HA 446 will depart Auckland at 11:55 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, cross the international dateline, and arrive in Honolulu at 9:45 a.m. the same day.
