Hawaiian Airlines Acquires Airport Center Building

HONOLULU – Hawaiian Airlines today announced the purchase of the Airport Center office building located near its Koapaka Street corporate headquarters and Honolulu International Airport. The 14-story office tower located at 3049 Ualena Street will allow Hawai‘i’s largest and longest-serving carrier to better meet its short-and long-term office requirements.

“The Airport Center’s convenient and strategic location gives us tremendous flexibility as we continue expanding our business,” said Rock Tang, senior director of corporate real estate. “This is a cost-effective and efficient way to support our growing staffing and space needs while enhancing our operations.”

Hawaiian continues to make investments in its business as part of its balanced capital allocation program and has purchased the fee simple property in cash for $10.8 million. The airline intends to continue managing the property as a multi-tenant office building by leasing most of its 111,109 square footage to current and prospective tenants, while initially occupying approximately 20,000 square feet.
