Hawaiian Airlines and Outrigger and OHANA Hotels & Resorts Introduce Complete Airport Check-In Process to Waikiki

HONOLULU, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time in Hawaii, travelers can now complete the check-in process for flights -- including luggage drop-off -- from hotel lobbies.

Hawaiian Airlines, in collaboration with Outrigger and OHANA Hotels & Resorts, today unveiled this revolutionary enhanced customer service for travelers, which brings the entire airport check-in process to Waikiki.

Guests at four Outrigger and OHANA properties holding Hawaiian Airlines' tickets can now save time by checking out of their rooms and checking in for their flights in the hotel lobby. The service is also available to residents and other non-hotel guests traveling aboard Hawaiian.

"Together, Outrigger and Hawaiian have established a higher standard for traveling to and from Hawaii with this new remote check-in service," said Blaine Miyasato, Hawaiian's vice president of customer services. "It's all about convenience for travelers and making the experience of flying with Hawaiian Airlines as fast and hassle-free as possible."

The new remote check-in service is available daily from 6:30-10:30 a.m. at the following four Outrigger and OHANA hotels, which are strategically located to serve Waikiki.

* Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach, 2335 Kalakaua Avenue (near Duke's restaurant)

* Outrigger Reef on the Beach, 2169 Kalia Road

* OHANA East, 2375 Kuhio Avenue

* OHANA Maile Sky Court, 2058 Kuhio Avenue (near alcove driveway)

"Outrigger is always looking for ways to enhance the guest experience when staying at our Outrigger and OHANA hotels," said Rob Solomon, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Outrigger Hotels & Resorts. "Hawaiian Airlines' kiosks at our properties do exactly that. Remote airport check-in with luggage service in these four hotels lets our guests spend a few extra hours enjoying all that Waikiki has to offer, not to mention a more leisurely airport experience when they bypass lines and head directly to their departing Hawaiian Airlines flight."

Hawaiian and Outrigger have made the check-in process incredibly easy. At each of the four hotel lobbies, Hawaiian has its customer service personnel and versatile Hele On kiosks available to assist travelers with the remote check-in process. Customers drop off their luggage, check-in for flights, and receive their boarding passes and luggage tags. The entire process takes a couple of minutes.

Hawaiian then delivers the luggage to the airport for processing through agriculture and security inspections. At the airport, travelers go straight through security to the departure gate and pick up their luggage upon arrival at their destination. The fee for the new luggage drop-off and delivery service is $5 per bag or $15 per family (up to 4 passengers in one itinerary). Customers wanting to check in for flights and only print boarding passes can do so free of charge.

In addition to offering a higher level of convenience for travelers, the new service will help reduce congestion at Hawaiian's airport lobby.
