Hawaiian Airlines and Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Innovate for Travelers with Remote Web Check-In from Waikiki

HONOLULU – Breaking new ground for travelers in Hawaii, Hawaiian Airlines and Outrigger Hotels & Resorts have teamed up to let Waikiki visitors and residents check in for flights before leaving for the airport using Hawaiian's versatile Hele On self-service kiosks.

For the first time in Hawaii, travelers can now do remote check in, including luggage, from the comfort and convenience of hotel lobbies.

“Hawaiian and Outrigger share a commitment to offering travelers hassle-free service, so this is a natural partnership,” said Blaine Miyasato, Hawaiian's vice president of customer services. “With Outrigger, we have essentially covered the four corners of Waikiki to serve their guests and anyone else in the district flying on Hawaiian.”

This time saving innovation allows a traveler to check in luggage online and print out boarding passes at lobby kiosks in the following four Outrigger and OHANA hotels in Waikiki, which were selected for their strategic locations to serve the district.

• Outrigger Reef on the Beach, 2169 Kalia Road
• OHANA East, 2375 Kuhio Avenue

Hawaiian and Outrigger is the only airline-hotel partnership in Hawaii offering the ease and convenience of Web check-in service. Travelers can also change their flight or seat location and upgrade to first class (subject to availability). Any fees for excess or overweight baggage – even surfboards – are handled online, eliminating airport wait time.

At Honolulu International Airport, Web check-in travelers have access to an exclusive “Web Bag/Remote Check-In Only” area in Hawaiian's ticket lobby where they are assured of no waiting in line to scan boarding passes at countertop kiosks and drop off luggage for tagging. Ticket agents assigned to the kiosks attach the tags and travelers are on their way to the flight. Using the speedy new service, airport check-in literally takes a minute or less.
