Landers brings more than 25 years of aviation operations, strategic planning, and organizational leadership experience to Hawaiian Airlines from a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy. During his diverse career as a Surface Warfare Officer and P-3C Orion Naval Flight Officer, he amassed more than 2,600 flight hours that include 42 combat support missions during conflicts in the Balkans and the Middle East. He also served in key operational and staff assignments including as Commanding Officer, USS Makin Island (LHD 8); Commanding Officer, Patrol Squadron Forty-Seven at MCBH (Marine Corps Base Hawai'i) Kane'ohe Bay; and most recently as director of operations for Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor.
He holds a Master of Science in National Security & Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Mississippi.
