HONOLULU – September 07, 2011 - Hawaiian Airlines announced the appointment of Kevin B. Yim to the position of director – advertising and promotions.
Primary among Yim’s responsibilities will be developing Hawaiian’s advertising and promotions strategy across its growing network, and overseeing coordinated marketing campaigns in a variety of print, broadcast and online media. He reports to Avi Mannis, Hawaiian’s vice president of marketing.
“Hawaiian is growing into new markets and Kevin’s expertise in advertising and promotions will help us attract new customers to our airline and to Hawaii as a destination,” said Mannis. “He has overseen numerous high-profile and successful promotional campaigns during his career and we welcome the energy and insight he is bringing to Hawaiian.”
Yim has 17 years of marketing experience in Hawaii. Prior to joining Hawaiian, he was with Bank of Hawaii for 14 years, most recently as vice president – brand, advertising and promotions manager for the past five years. His marketing career began at radio station KIKI-FM in Honolulu, where he handled sales and promotions for three years.
Active in the community, Yim volunteers his time as a board member for Pacific Islanders in Communication, and also serves on the marketing committee for Kapiolani Health Foundation.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Yim graduated from Kamehameha Schools. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of San Francisco, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in marketing.
