Senior Director – Labor Relations
HONOLULU –- Hawaiian Airlines announced today the appointment of Matt Bernier to the position of senior director – labor relations.
Bernier joined Hawaiian on September 26. He is responsible for administering the contracts of Hawaiian's six labor groups covering wages and benefits for unionized employees.
He comes well prepared for his new job. His professional background includes six years of airline experience, much of which was spent in Phoenix as manager of labor relations for America West Airlines. He oversaw six union contracts for 7,000 America West employees and served as an advisor on all labor relations matters for both union and non-union employees.
Bernier was an honors student at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, before earning a joint Masters of Business Administration and Law degree in 1998 from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada.
