Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants Ratify New Contract

HONOLULU – Mar. 31, 2009 - Hawaiian Airlines’ flight attendants have voted overwhelmingly to approve a new two-year contract reached tentatively between the company and leaders of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA) last month.

The new contract increases compensation for Hawaiian’s 1,031 flight attendants and also provides for operational improvements that will increase efficiency for the company.

Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian’s president and CEO, commented, “Our ability to reach this progressive new agreement collaboratively and in a relatively short span of time says a lot about the level of engagement of our flight attendants and the AFA leadership. Together, we found a way to both increase compensation for employees during a challenging time in our industry and at the same time help improve the performance of our company going forward.”
