– December 17, 2013 – Hawaiian Airlines has announced the promotion of Vicki Nakata to the newly
created position of vice president - loyalty and travel products. In this role,
she is responsible for overseeing all elements of the HawaiianMiles program and
the growing line-up of other Hawaiian Airlines travel-related products such as
vacation packages and premium seat offerings.
Nakata
previous held the title of managing director, partnerships and ancillary
revenue since 2011, where she was instrumental in growing different ancillary
revenue products including Hawaiian Airlines’ co-branded credit and debit
cards, point transfer programs, frequent flyer partnerships and more.
“Vicki’s
contributions to our team over the past few years have been substantial, and I
expect nothing but bigger and better things with her newly expanded
responsibilities,” said Peter Ingram, Hawaiian Airlines executive vice
president and chief commercial officer. “In this new role, her background and
expertise will strengthen our loyalty program and product offerings as we
continue to grow our business.”
Nakata
joined Hawaiian Airlines in 2010 as senior director, strategy &
transformation before being promoted to managing director, partnerships &
ancillary revenue. Prior to joining Hawaiian Airlines, she served as principal,
manager and consultant at Bain & Company, Inc. in Los Angeles, Boston, Hong
Kong and Sydney for more than 10 years where she worked with various airline,
consumer, technology and industrial companies on customer strategy, mergers,
operations and products.
She
holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University’s
Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from
Amherst College. She serves on the alliance board of directors for the Boys
& Girls Club of Hawai‘i and is a member of the Pacific Century Fellows
Program Class of 2012.
