HAWAIIAN AIRLINES PROUD SPONSOR OF THE 2010 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SLACK KEY FESTIVAL

(Redondo Beach, CA January 1, 2010)

On January 24, 2010, in association with Hawaiian Airlines, Kala Koa Entertainment will present the highly anticipated 3rd Annual Southern California Slack Key Festival at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. This year's lineup features Cyril Pahinui (son of Gabby Pahinui) performing with the Pahinui Hawaiian Band (Sonny Lim, Kunia Galdeira, Peter Moon Jr), musical legend Ledward Kaapana, GRAMMY winner Jeff Peterson, Guitar magazine Guitar Superstar finalist Makana, “Weird” Al Yankovic guitarist and Hawaii Music Award winner Jim “Kimo” West and one of the islands' favorite entertainers, John Cruz. Local Southern California hula halau will also participate.

The Southern California Slack Key Festival - the first of its kind anywhere outside Hawaii - set a major milestone for Hawaiian music events on the mainland when it debuted in 2008 and has already garnered a huge loyal following - creating, cultivating, and renewing interest in Hawaii and its music. It is housed in the affluent Los Angeles South Bay, reaching some of the highest per capita incomes of any community in the U.S. to include Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

About Hawaiian Airlines

Hawaiian is the nation

ʼs highest-ranked carrier for service quality and performance in 2008 in the 19th annual Airline Quality Rating study. Hawaiian has also led all U.S. carriers in on-time performance for each of the past five years (2004-2008) and has been an industry leader in fewest misplaced bags during that same period (#1 from 2005-2007, #2 in 2008) as reported by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Consumer surveys by Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure and Zagat have all ranked Hawaiian as the top domestic airline serving Hawaii.

Now in its 81st year of continuous service for Hawaii, Hawaiian is the stateʼs biggest and longest-serving airline, as well as the largest provider of passenger air service to Hawaii from the state's primary visitor markets on the U.S. mainland. Hawaiian offers nonstop service to Hawaii from more U.S. gateway cities (10) than any other airline, as well as service to the Philippines, Australia, American Samoa, and Tahiti. Hawaiian also provides more than 160 daily jet flights within the Hawaiian Islands.
