Hawaiian Airlines Reports August Traffic Statistics

HONOLULU, September 15, 2000 -- In systemwide service during August 2000, Hawaiian Airlines recorded Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) of 541,043,000, an increase of 16.1 percent from 466,079,000 RPMs reported for the same month in 1999.

Available Seat Miles (ASMs) in August 2000 were 650,722,000, an increase of 16.9 percent from 556,874,000 ASMs recorded in August 1999.

Systemwide Load Factor (LF) in August 2000 was 83.1 percent, a decrease of 0.6 percentage point from 83.7 percent in August 1999.

Hawaiian carried 583,637 passengers in August 2000, an increase of 6.0 percent from 550,748 passengers reported for August 1999.

Year-to-date
For the first eight months of 2000, Hawaiian recorded total RPMs of 3,858,591,000, an increase of 19.1 percent from 3,240,771,000 RPMs recorded for the same period in 1999.

Through August, total 2000 ASMs were 4,818,128,000, an increase of 16.7 percent from 4,128,395,000 ASMs recorded for the first eight months in 1999.

Average 2000 systemwide Load Factor through August was 80.1 percent, an increase of 1.6 points from 78.5 percent for the same period in 1999.

Hawaiian carried a total of 4,304,344 passengers during the first eight months of 2000, an increase of 11.5 percent from 3,860,457 carried during the same period in 1999.
