HONOLULU, January 16, 1997 -- In systemwide service during December 1996, Hawaiian Airlines recorded Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) of 337,585,000, an increase of 4.4 percent from 323,467,000 RPMs reported for the same month in 1995.

Available Seat Miles (ASMs) in December 1996 were 458,411,000, an increase of 4.9 percent from 437,058,000 ASMs recorded in December of last year.

Systemwide Load Factor (LF) in December 1996 was 73.6 percent, a decrease of 0.4 points from 74.0 percent in December of last year.

Hawaiian carried 432,945 passengers in December 1996, an increase of 2.7 percent from 421,598 passengers reported for December 1995.

Cargo Ton Miles (CTMs) flown in December 1996 were 5,086,000, an increase of 18.3 percent from 4,300,000 flown in December 1995.

For the year 1996, Hawaiian recorded total RPMs of 3,840,085,000, an increase of 6.8 percent from 3,597,162,000 RPMs recorded in 1995.

Total ASMs for 1996 were 5,100,897,000, an increase of 9.1 percent from 4,677,4,000 ASMs recorded in 1995.

Average systemwide Load Factor in 1996 was 75.3 percent, a decrease of 1.6 points from 76.9 percent in 1995.

During 1996, Hawaiian carried a total of 5,160,512 passengers, an increase of 4.6 percent from 4,935,616 carried during 1995.

Cargo Ton Miles recorded in 1996 were 51,022,000, an increase of 24.1 percent from 41,108,000 in 1995.
