Hawaiian Airlines Reports February Traffic Statistics

HONOLULU, March 18, 1999 -- In systemwide service during February 1999, Hawaiian Airlines recorded Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) of 343,483,000, an increase of 15.4 percent from 297,656,000 RPMs reported for the same month in 1998.

Available Seat Miles (ASMs) in February 1999 were 443,821,000, an increase of 1.5 percent from 437,178,000 ASMs recorded in February 1998.

Systemwide Load Factor (LF) in February 1999 was 77.4 percent, an increase of 9.3 points from 68.1 percent in February 1998.

Hawaiian carried 438,478 passengers in February 1999, an increase of 12.1 percent from 391,078 passengers reported for February 1998.

Year-To-Date

For the first two months of 1999, Hawaiian recorded total RPMs of 698,840,000, an increase of 14.7 percent from 609,456,000 RPMs recorded for the same period in 1998.

Through February, total 1999 ASMs were 940,225,000, an increase of 2.8 percent from 914,649,000 ASMs recorded for the first two months in 1998.

Average 1999 systemwide Load Factor through February was 74.3 percent, an increase of 7.7 points from 66.6 percent for the same period in 1998.

Hawaiian carried a total of 874,851 passengers during the first two months of 1999, an increase of 10.6 percent from 791,198 carried during the same period in 1998.
