HONOLULU, April 11, 1997 -- In systemwide service during March 1997, Hawaiian Airlines recorded Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) of 367,260,000, an increase of 10.0 percent from 334,015,000 RPMs reported for the same month in 1996.

Available Seat Miles (ASMs) in March 1997 were 486,183,000, an increase of 14.5 percent from 424,535,000 ASMs recorded in March 1996.

Systemwide Load Factor (LF) in March 1997 was 75.5 percent, a decrease of 3.2 points from 78.7 percent in March 1996.

Hawaiian carried 476,975 passengers in March 1997, an increase of 2.0 percent from 467,585 passengers reported for March 1996.

Cargo Ton Miles (CTMs) flown in March 1997 were 5,197,000, an increase of 22.1 percent from 4,257,000 flown in March 1996.

Year-To-Date

For the first three months of 1997, Hawaiian recorded total RPM's of 979,073,000, an increase of 4.7 percent from 935,458,000 RPM's recorded for the same period in 1996.

Through March, total 1997 ASM's were 1,380,636,000, an increase of 11.0 percent from 1,244,292,000 ASM's recorded for the first three months in 1996.

Average 1997 systemwide Load Factor through March was 70.9 percent, a decrease of 4.3 points from 75.2 percent for the same period last year.

Hawaiian carried a total of 1,295,930 passengers during the first three months of 1997, a decrease of 1.4 percent from 1,314,836 carried during the same period in 1996.

Cargo Ton Miles through March were 13,499,000, an increase of 15.4 percent from 11,650,000 for the first three months of 1996.
