HONOLULU, October 16, 2002 -- In systemwide scheduled service during September 2002, Hawaiian Airlines recorded scheduled Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) of 350,692,966, an increase of 17.1 percent from 299,479,716 RPMs reported for the same month in 2001. The company's traffic statistics for September 2001 were significantly impacted by the temporary suspension of U.S. airline operations and decline in demand for air travel following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Scheduled Available Seat Miles (ASMs) in September 2002 were 527,430,151, an increase of 20.0 percent from 439,635,418 ASMs recorded in September 2001.
Scheduled systemwide Load Factor (LF) in September 2002 was 66.5 percent, a decrease of 1.6 points from 68.1 percent in September 2001.
Hawaiian carried 404,550 passengers in scheduled operations during September 2002, an increase of 14.9 percent from 352,002 passengers reported for September 2001.
