Hawaiian Airlines Reports September Traffic Statistics

HONOLULU, October 14, 1996 -- In systemwide service during September 1996, Hawaiian Airlines recorded Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) of 302,509,000, an increase of 2.8 percent from 294,349,000 RPMs reported for the same month in 1995.

Available Seat Miles (ASMs) in September 1996 were 429,590,000, an increase of 5.0 percent from 409,011,000 ASMs recorded in September of last year.

Systemwide Load Factor (LF) in September 1996 was 70.4 percent, a decrease of 1.6 points from 72.0 percent in September of last year.

Hawaiian carried 370,090 passengers in September 1996, a decrease of 1.6 percent from 375,961 passengers reported for September 1995.

Cargo Ton Miles (CTMs) flown in September 1996 were 3,865,000, an increase of 3.1 percent from 3,750,000 flown in September 1995.

Year-to-Date

During the first nine months of 1996, Hawaiian recorded 1996 year-to-date RPMs of 2,900,141,000 an increase of 10.5 percent from 2,624,889,000 RPMs for the same period last year.

ASMs for the first nine months of 1996 were 3,818,152,000, an increase of 11.9 percent from 3,412,410,000 ASMs recorded for the same period last year.

Systemwide Load Factor for the January - September 1996 period was 76.0 percent, a decrease of 0.9 points from 76.9 percent during the same period last year.

Through September, Hawaiian carried 3,926,325 passengers, an increase of 6.8 percent from 3,675,575 carried during the same period last year.

Cargo Ton Miles recorded for the first nine months of 1996 were 36,527,000, an increase of 23.7 percent from 29,529,000 during the same period in 1995.
