HONOLULU, April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hawaiian Airlines today
launched a historic new chapter in its 79-year legacy of service for Hawaii
with the start of nonstop flights between Honolulu and Manila.
Today's inaugural flight departed Honolulu with more than 100 VIPs on
board, including Philippines Consul General Ariel Abadilla, Philippines
Senator Richard Gordon, several state lawmakers, numerous leaders of Hawaii's
Filipino community, and top executives from Hawaiian.

Manila is Hawaiian's first gateway city into Asia. The new service also
makes Hawaiian the only U.S. carrier providing nonstop service between Manila
and Honolulu, and will more than double capacity on the route.
Hawaiian's inaugural return flight from Manila will arrive in Honolulu on
Thursday, April 17, at 11:15 a.m., with 100 business and community leaders
from the Philippines on board.
Hawaiian's Flight #455 will depart Honolulu International Airport on
Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 12:30 p.m. and arrive at Ninoy
Aquino International Airport in Manila the following day at 5:15 p.m. Return
Flight #456 will depart Manila on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
at 7:00 p.m. and arrive in Honolulu the same day at 11:15 a.m. (Manila is 18
hours ahead of Honolulu and the flight crosses the International Dateline.)
In celebration of its new service, Hawaiian is offering a special
introductory roundtrip fare between Honolulu and Manila of $499, plus taxes
and fees, for Coach Class seating that is good for travel purchases through

inflight menu a distinctive Filipino flair.
Hawaiian will operate the nonstop route using its wide-body, twin-aisle
Boeing 767-300ER aircraft that seat up to 264 passengers. The comfort and
convenience of Hawaiian's 2-3-2 seating configuration provides either window
or aisle seating to 86 percent of the passengers. The flight time is more than
10 hours.
