HONOLULU – December 12, 2011 - Hawaiian Airlines will boost its service to Hawaii from the heart of the state’s single-largest visitor market with the addition of a third daily flight between Los Angeles and Honolulu on a year-round basis, starting in June 2012. Hawaiian had previously offered this flight on a seasonal basis to accommodate peak summer travel demand.
“The growth of our long-haul fleet allows us to add this third daily flight on a permanent basis to better accommodate the strong demand for our service in southern California year-round and provide our customers with more schedule options,” said Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian’s president and CEO.
Hawaiian’s increasing the seasonal flight to year-round service will add more than 70,000 air seats annually between the two cities.
Starting June 7, 2012, Hawaiian’s Flight #3 will depart Los Angeles International Airport daily at 10:30 a.m. and arrive at Honolulu International Airport at 1:10 p.m. The return Flight #4 will depart Honolulu daily at 10:20 p.m. and arrive in Los Angeles the following morning at 6:45 a.m.
The flight’s mid-morning departure from Los Angeles offers an alternative to Hawaiian’s earlier departure, yet still allows travelers enough time on arrival to spend the afternoon exploring Oahu or connect to a Neighbor Island in time to enjoy a first sunset on the beach. The schedule’s late evening return from Honolulu allows visitors a full final day in Hawaii before returning home.
Hawaiian currently operates two daily flights between Los Angeles and Honolulu. Hawaiian Flight #1 departs Los Angeles daily at 8:55 a.m. and arrives in Honolulu at 12:45 p.m., with the return Flight #2 departing Honolulu daily at 3:05 p.m. and arriving in Los Angeles at 10:30 p.m. Hawaiian Flight #9 departs Los Angeles daily at 5:05 p.m. and arrives in Honolulu at 9:00 p.m., with the return Flight #10 departing Honolulu at 8:00 a.m. and arriving in Los Angeles at 3:25 p.m.
Making the flight experience on Hawaiian especially enjoyable is its authentically Hawaiian hospitality in flight, a distinctive presentation that engages passengers with its showcase of the culture, people, and natural beauty of the Hawaiian Islands.
In addition, Hawaiian is the only carrier serving Hawaii that offers complimentary meals in Economy Class, and is also the only carrier providing the spacious comforts of wide-body, twin-aisle aircraft for all of its transpacific flights.
Tickets can be purchased on Hawaiian’s website at HawaiianAirlines.com, by calling Hawaiian’s reservations department toll-free at 1-800-367-5320, or through any professional travel agent.
