Hawaiian Leads Carriers in Punctuality, Fewest Cancellations for October

HONOLULU – December 08, 2009 - Hawaiian Airlines recorded the airline industry’s top scores for on-time performance and fewest cancelled flights during October, as reported today by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) with its monthly Air Travel Consumer Report.

 

Hawaiian led all carriers in punctuality during October with 93.4 percent of its flights arriving as scheduled, while achieving a nearly perfect record in fewest cancelled flights with only three cancellations out of 6,076 total flights in the month.

 

In addition, Hawaiian earned the industry’s second-highest score for baggage handling in October, reporting 1.86 mishandled baggage reports for every 1,000 passengers served.

 

Hawaiian also ranked fourth in the category of consumer complaints during October, with only three complaints being recorded by the DOT out of more than 700,000 passengers served.

 

Hawaiian is the nation’s largest provider of air service to Hawaii from the Western U.S., as well as the leading carrier for interisland service between the islands of Hawaii.
