Hawaiian Ranks #1 for Punctuality, Fewest Cancellations in July

HONOLULU – September 12, 2011 - Hawaiian Airlines was the nation’s most reliable airline in July, ranking #1 in on-time performance and fewest cancellations, and second overall in fewest misplaced bags and fewest consumer complaints, as reported today by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) with its monthly

Air Travel Consumer Report.

 

Hawaiian finished July as the nation’s top-ranked airline for punctuality, as 95.1 percent of its flights arrived on time, exceeding the industry average by 17.3 percentage points. In addition, Hawaiian was nearly perfect in leading the industry in fewest cancelled flights during the month, recording only two cancellations out of 5,976 total flights.

 

Hawaiian scored the industry’s second-highest ranking for baggage handling in July, reporting 2.33 mishandled baggage reports for every 1,000 passengers carried. Hawaiian also ranked second overall for fewest consumer complaints at 0.50 percent, with the DOT reporting only four complaints compared to nearly 800,000 passengers served in July.

 

Hawaiian Airlines is the largest provider of air service to Hawaii from the Western U.S., as well as the leading carrier for interisland service between the islands of Hawaii.
