Hawaiian Ranks as Nation's Most Reliable Airline in January

#1 for On-Time Service and Fewest Cancelled Flights

HONOLULU, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Hawaiian Airlines is again the nation's most reliable carrier for on-time service, reclaiming the top spot in January according to the Air Travel Consumer Report issued today by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). Hawaiian led all carriers in punctuality with 91.9 percent of its flights arriving as scheduled.

Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian's president and CEO, said, "The consistency of excellence by our employees is the reason that Hawaiian has now been America's on-time champion for 37 of the past 39 months."

Hawaiian was the nation's best on-time airline in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and led the DOT rankings for a record 36 consecutive months from November 2003 to October 2006. (To meet DOT standards, a flight must arrive within 15 minutes of schedule to be considered on time.).

Hawaiian also earned the nation's #1 ranking for fewest flight cancellations in January at 0.2 percent, representing only 11 cancellations out of 4,622 total flights.

Hawaii's biggest and longest serving airline also had the third-best score at taking care of customers' luggage with 3.72 mishandled baggage reports for every 1,000 passengers. Hawaiian was the nation's #1 airline at baggage handling the past two years.

The DOT report covers 20 airlines, including 10 carriers providing service for Hawaii. The full report is available online at http://airconsumer.ost.dot.gov/reports/atcr07.htm.
