Hawaiian Reports DOT Service Rankings for November

HONOLULU – Jan. 3, 2007 - Hawaiian Airlines reported its service rankings for November 2006 in conjunction with today's issuance of the monthly Air Travel Consumer Report by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).

Hawaiian ranked #2 nationally in punctuality with 90.9 percent of its flights arriving as scheduled in November. (To meet DOT standards, a flight must arrive within 15 minutes of schedule to be considered on time.). Hawaii's biggest and longest-serving carrier was also #2 in baggage handling with a score of 3.35 mishandled baggage reports for every 1,000 passengers. Hawaiian's 36-month streak as the nation's most punctual airline from November 2003 to October 2006 is a record.

Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian's president and CEO, commented, “Our congratulations go out to Aloha for earning the top spot for punctuality in November. I'm sure our employees will vigorously respond to this challenge and do all they can to put Hawaiian atop the DOT's punctuality rankings again soon.”

Hawaiian also ranked fourth nationally in fewest cancelled flights during November with a score of 0.6 percent resulting from 26 cancellations out of 4,440 total flights.

The DOT report covers 20 airlines, including 10 carriers providing service for Hawaii. The full report is available online at http://airconsumer.ost.dot.gov/reports/atcr07.htm.
