HONOLULU –- Hawaiian Airlines Trustee Joshua Gotbaum announced that the former outside counsel for Hawaiian Airlines, Inc., the law firm of Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP, has agreed to pay the airline $750,000 to settle disputes arising from Paul Weiss's representation of Hawaiian prior to and during its bankruptcy.
Included in the settlement is a release of any bankruptcy law claims that the Debtor may have against Paul Weiss arising from payments made to Paul Weiss before the bankruptcy case along with claims relating to Paul Weiss's representation of the company in connection with a tender offer made in 2002 and its representation of Airline Investment Partnership, a group led by John Adams, who was Hawaiian Airlines' former CEO. “I am pleased to have reached this settlement, which will bring additional funds to Hawaiian, bring closure to my investigation of John Adams and help Hawaiian exit from bankruptcy,” said Gotbaum.
About Hawaiian Airlines
Hawaiian Airlines, the nation's number one on-time carrier, is recognized as one of the best airlines in America.
