Hawaiian to Fly Oakland Raiders for 11th Straight Year

HONOLULU – August 02, 2010 - For the 11

th consecutive season, Hawaiian Airlines will provide the players, coaches, and staff of the Oakland Raiders with their own special brand of service when flying to road games this NFL season, as the team’s exclusive provider of chartered air transportation.

“We’re big fans of the Raiders and very proud of our longstanding partnership with the team, and the shared goal we have of striving for excellence,” said Glenn Taniguchi, Hawaiian’s senior vice president of marketing and sales.

Hawaiian’s catering department and flight crew helps keep the players ready for the demands of the football season with a specially designed and co-branded First Class service featuring healthy snacks, fresh fruits, protein bars, and sandwiches prior to departure, and hearty, extra-large meals during the flight. The menu changes with each flight and often reflects the regional tastes of the Raiders’ destination city. At the team’s request, products from Hawaii are included in the service, such as Hawaiian Iced Tea and Passion Orange Guava Juice.

For entertainment, Hawaiian shows up to three first-run movies during the flights. To ensure that all the team’s needs are met, Hawaiian provides a dedicated catering coordinator on each flight who is trained on the expectations of the organization and handles special requests.

In addition, with up to 264 seats on Hawaiian’s wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 767-300 aircraft, players are able to stretch out and relax in comfort, often with a row of seats all to themselves.

“Hawaiian does an exceptional job taking care of our coaches, players and staff,” said Raiders Executive Marc Badain. “The fact that we are marking our 11th straight year together shows the value we place in Hawaiian as a partner in Raider football.”

Hawaiian will fly the ‘Silver and Black’ to pre-season road games against Dallas and Chicago this month, and to seven regular-season road games between September and January against Tennessee, Arizona, Denver, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Jacksonville, and Kansas City.

Hawaiian offers nonstop daily service between Oakland and Honolulu year-round and also introduced this summer, for the first time, seasonal nonstop daily service between Oakland and Maui.
