Hawaiian Airlines And Continental Airlines Begin Codesharing On Hawaii Interisland Flights

-- New Pact Expands Cooperative Marketing Relationship --

HONOLULU -- Hawaiian Airlines, Inc. (ASE and PCX: HA) and Continental Airlines, Inc. (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A) announced today that they have begun codesharing to make it easier for Continental customers to book connecting travel between points in the mainland U.S. and any of the Hawaiian Islands.

The new codesharing arrangement provides a streamlined reservations process for travelers and travel agents and enhances the cooperative marketing relationship Hawaiian and Continental initiated in 1997.

"Our codesharing with Continental provides greater convenience for thousands more travelers to and from Hawaii and the travel agents who serve them," said Paul J. Casey, Hawaiian Airlines president and chief executive officer. "This new agreement significantly expands Hawaiian's marketing alliance with one of the world's leading carriers and strengthens our ability to market Hawaii as a travel destination."

"The coordination of our flights means Hawaiian and Continental can now offer travelers visiting Hawaii -- and Hawaii residents traveling elsewhere -- the convenience of an expanded flight schedule, one-stop check-in and the option of full OnePass mileage credit for the entire trip," Casey said.

Under the carriers' codeshare agreement, Continental has attached its two-letter booking code (CO) in worldwide computer reservations systems to approximately 150 daily jet flights throughout the Hawaiian Islands operated by Hawaiian Airlines. The codeshare relationship provides travelers many of the benefits of single-carrier service to all of Hawaii's island destinations.

The two carriers will coordinate flight schedules to provide convenient connections between Hawaiian's extensive all-jet flight schedule among the Hawaiian Islands and Continental's nonstop flights to Hawaii from Houston, New York / Newark and Los Angeles.

Hawaiian and Continental already offer mutual customers coordinated one-stop check-in for baggage and boarding passes for travel between any Continental Airlines departure city and any Hawaii destination served by Hawaiian Airlines. In addition, Continental OnePass members earn 500 OnePass miles per flight for coach travel or 750 miles per flight for first class travel on CO-coded interisland flights and miles earned on those flights count toward OnePass Elite status.

Continental's new Hawaii interisland code share flights will carry flight numbers in the 4500 - 4699 range.

Founded 70 years ago as Inter-Island Airways, Hawaiian Airlines (booking code HA) is the nation's 12th largest carrier. It provides award-winning service on more than 140 jet flights daily among the islands of Hawaii in addition to daily round trip flights to Hawaii from major visitor markets on the West Coast and weekly service to Hawaii from points in the South Pacific.

Continental Airlines is the fifth largest airline in the U.S., offering more than 2,200 departures daily to 130 domestic and 85 international destinations. Operating major hubs in Newark, Houston and Cleveland, Continental (http://www.continental.com) has extensive service throughout the Americas, and to Europe and Asia.
