HONOLULU – Sept. 17, 2009 - For the 10th consecutive year, the Oakland Raiders will be flying to their road games this season aboard Hawaiian Airlines and enjoying a special brand of service designed to help the team play their best football.
“Hawaiian does an exceptional job taking care of our coaches, players and staff,” said Raiders Executive Marc Badain. “The fact that we are marking our 10th straight year together shows the value we place in Hawaiian as a partner in Raider football.”
As The Team of the Decades celebrates its 50th regular season of professional football, Hawaiian is flying the Raiders to this week’s opening road game in Kansas City, as well as to Houston, New York, San Diego, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Denver, and Cleveland later this season.
Hawaiian’s flight crew helps the Silver and Black prepare for each road game by providing the players with a specially designed and co-branded First Class meal service featuring extra-large portions, fresh fruit, snacks, beverages, and other special requests. At the team’s request, products from Hawaii are included in the service, such as Hawaiian Iced Tea and Passion Orange Guava Juice. For entertainment, up to three first-run movies are shown during the flights.
“We always give the Oakland Raiders our best and are very proud that they have entrusted Hawaiian to handle all of their flights throughout the country since 2000,” said Glenn Taniguchi, Hawaiian’s senior vice president of marketing and sales.
Hawaiian is the only carrier offering nonstop daily service between Oakland and Honolulu, combining its wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 767-300 aircraft that seat up to 264 passengers with its distinctive, award-winning “Hawaii Starts Here” inflight service.
