“Picture Yourself a Winner to Hawaii” - Hawaiian’s Contest Awarding Trips for Seattle “Beachfront” Photos

HONOLULU – January 13, 2010 - Seattle-area residents coping with the chill of January can now see themselves in Hawaii – both figuratively and, for four lucky winners, literally – through the “Picture Yourself in Hawaii” contest from Hawaiian Airlines.

The online trip giveaway contest (

www.pictureyourselfinhawaii.com) features four storefront window displays in downtown Seattle showing people in bathing suits enjoying sunny Hawaii beach and surf settings that are designed for passersby to photograph themselves being “in the islands.”

The Seattle “beachfront” window displays are prominently located at 117 Pine Street, between 1st and 2nd avenues, near the world-famous Pike Place Market. Anyone can take part in the trip giveaway contest and there is no obligation to enter except to take a few minutes posing in front of the window displays and sending in the photos to the contest website.

For those unable to visit the Pine Street windows, they can download the images from the website and PhotoShop themselves into the scenes and submit the photos.

“We know a lot of people in Seattle would welcome the opportunity to be in Hawaii right now and our new photo contest is a fun way to make it happen,” said Glenn Taniguchi, Hawaiian’s senior vice president of marketing and sales.

“Picture Yourself in Hawaii” photos can be submitted online through January 31, 2010, after which a drawing will be held and four winners randomly selected – one for each of the four window displays – and awarded free roundtrip coach class tickets for two from Seattle to Honolulu.

Visitors to www.pictureyourselfinhawaii.com will see the photos – updated daily – of people posing in the tropical scenes in the midst of a Seattle winter. Please visit the website for the complete contest rules and information.
