Seahawks Flying Hawaiian for Road Games Again This Season

HONOLULU – September 09, 2011 - To ensure the Seattle Seahawks’ players are rested and ready for road games this NFL season, the team is chartering flights on Hawaiian Airlines to take advantage of its spacious aircraft interiors and award-winning inflight hospitality.

Hawaiian is flying the Seahawks’ players, coaches and team personnel to eight road games this season, including five cities in the Central and Eastern time zones: Denver, San Francisco, New York, Cleveland, Dallas, St. Louis, Chicago, and Phoenix.

“Hawaiian Airlines continues to provide our coaches, players, football personnel and staff with the highest level of service,” said Seahawks president Peter McLoughlin. “The comfort provided by Hawaiian’s wide-body, twin-aisle aircraft provides an atmosphere conducive to on-going game preparation.”

The Seahawks’ players will enjoy the roominess of Hawaiian’s wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 767-300 aircraft with up to 264 seats, allowing them to stretch out and relax. In addition, Hawaiian is providing a dedicated catering coordinator on each flight to help keep the players nourished with a First Class meal service that includes extra-large portions and is supplemented with fresh fruit, protein bars, and other healthy snacks before and during the flight, and to also handle special requests. Up to three first-run movies will be provided for entertainment.

“The Seahawks are making some long trips this season and we feel privileged to be working in partnership with the organization to provide a quality of service that will help the players be ready for the road games,” commented Glenn Taniguchi, Hawaiian’s senior vice president of marketing and sales.

This marks the second consecutive year and third year out of the past four that Hawaiian has been the Seahawks’ official charter airline.

Hawaiian has been serving the Seattle market since 1986 and offers daily, nonstop flights to both Honolulu and Maui. Hawaiian is the only carrier serving Hawaii that uses wide-body, twin-aisle aircraft for all its flights, and also provides complimentary meals in Economy Class. Hawaiian’s authentic “Hawaii Flies With Us” inflight service embraces customers with the sights, sounds and tastes of the Hawaiian Islands throughout the flight.
