HONOLULU – Jun. 19, 2007 - Another national report has rated Hawaiian Airlines' service higher than any other domestic airline serving Hawaii. Hawaii's hometown carrier is the nation's top-ranked airline serving the islands, according to the recently published Travel + Leisure 2007 World's Best Service Awards.
One of the travel industry's most highly regarded magazines, Travel + Leisure surveyed readers to rate airlines on their in-flight service and customer service, and published the results in its June issue.
Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian's president and CEO, said, “Our customers have high expectations for quality and this award shows how well Hawaiian's employees deliver. This honor belongs to them.”
Hawaiian was rated the #3 domestic airline overall.
The World's Best Service Awards ranking comes on the heels of two other national airline reports that rated Hawaiian highly. The July issue of Consumer Reports gives Hawaiian a “Best Buy” rating for offering the “best combination of service and price.” Hawaiian was one of only four airlines nationwide to receive this rating and the only airline serving Hawaii.
In April, Hawaiian was ranked as America's #1 airline for passenger service in the 17th Annual Airline Quality Ratings, which evaluated the nation's 18 largest carriers using a weighted average of 15 elements in four major service areas.
About Hawaiian Airlines
The nation's top-ranked airline for service in the 2007 Airline Quality Ratings, Hawaiian also led all U.S. carriers in on-time performance for 2004, 2005 and 2006 (including a record 36 consecutive months from November 2003 to October 2006,) and in fewest misplaced bags for 2005 and 2006, as reported by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Consumer surveys by Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and Zagat all rank Hawaiian as the top domestic airline serving Hawaii.
Now in its 78th year of continuous service in Hawaii, Hawaiian is the state's biggest and longest-serving airline, as well as the second largest provider of passenger air service between the U.S. mainland and Hawaii. Hawaiian offers nonstop service to Hawaii from more U.S. gateway cities than any other airline (nine), as well as service to Australia, American Samoa and Tahiti. Hawaiian also provides approximately 100 daily jet flights among the Hawaiian Islands.
